Yes, and we encourage it. Every child gets a free trial lesson. It’s pressure-free, commitment-free, and the best way to find out if they enjoy it. If they do—we take it from there.

This depends on the school setup, but most schools we work with offer drums, guitar, keyboard, bass and vocals. If there’s enough demand, we can sometimes introduce other instruments too. Once you let us know what your child’s interested in, and we’ll check if it’s on the shelves at your school.

Absolutely. We support graded exams from Rockschool, Trinity, and ABRSM. Grades give students a goal and something to be proud of. For some, it’s like belt colours in karate—it gives their learning structure and momentum. For others, they’re happy to play just for fun. We support both paths equally.

Not straight away. If your child wants to continue, we’ll help you figure out the best option. Some schools have spares, others don’t—but we’ll guide you through hire, loan or purchase options. No need to buy an expensive keyboard before you know if they’ll enjoy it!

Yes! Music is meant to be shared. Whether it’s school concerts, performances, recordings or band shows—schools have loads of exciting opportunities. The big goal? Letting your child feel like a rockstar (or orchestral star!) and giving them memories and confidence that they’ll hold onto for life.

Yes, because lessons take place throughout the school day, music lessons will take place during school lessons, lunch and break time. However, we run a rotating timetable so they don’t miss the same lesson each week.

We totally get that things come up, sickness, school trips, family emergencies—and we’ll always do our best to catch your child up if something unexpected happens. If we can shuffle the timetable or reschedule, we will.

That said, we don’t offer automatic credits or refunds for missed lessons. Here’s why: our teachers are real people—not gig-economy freelancers who only get paid when someone shows up. We commit to them for the lessons, just like you commit to us. Even if a child is off for the day, our teachers still prepare, show up, and stay ready.

In some companies, cancellations mean the teacher loses out which can be a brutal fluctuation of income leading to a lack of commitment and consistency from the teacher, impacting lessons. We don’t do that. We believe in creating stable, respectful working environments for our team, because when teachers feel supported, they teach better. It's a ripple effect that benefits your child too.

So while we’ll always be flexible and understanding where we can, your subscription helps us build a culture that treats both students and teachers with respect.

Parents set up a Direct Debit when enrolling. The monthly fee (20‑minute lessons £48/month, 30‑minute lessons £72/month) is collected on the 1st of each month, covering a minimum of 33 lessons per school year. Payments are spread evenly over 11 months (August excluded). You’ll receive a reminder before each payment

We use a fixed monthly subscription so you can budget easily. No fluctuating invoices or last-minute surprises. It’s like Netflix—but instead of binge-watching cartoons, your child is learning a skill that builds confidence, discipline and creativity. It also saves from chasing payments and reduces everyone's admin.

Short answer: it’s not a tip, it’s another government tax.

Longer answer: once a business earns above a certain amount, it has to legally charge VAT—currently 20%. This goes on top of everything else a business pays (insurance, wages, pensions, national insurance, corporation tax, income taxes, etc). We’ve even been asked if VAT goes to us- it doesn’t. That money goes straight to the government.

What does it fund? Things like schools, hospitals, roads, teachers and emergency services. So as painful as it is, it keeps the country running.

Now, are there a few sneaky companies that don’t charge VAT on music lessons? Yes. But they’re either breaking the rules or doing some very creative accounting that could put them—and their customers—at risk.

We choose the honest path. It’s clean, simple and secure for everyone. Just know: when you pay for lessons, we only actually receive 80% of that fee. The other 20% goes to VAT.
